it’s a play i’ve recently seen at bulandra theatre, in bucharest. although i have to admit, i mostly enjoy comedies, this drama really shocked me in a pleasant way. it’s the drama experienced by a family, involving craziness, rapes, sacrifice and eventually murder. i found it a bit complicated, probably not suitable for a first date thing.
however, throughout the development of the plot, things started to make sense and to penetrate my mind. it was actually absorbing. each word thrown out was full of meaning, full of emotion and passion. the actors are stunning – their performances, spectacular. but what made this play completely worthwhile, from where i stand, was the final sound. the eldest child of the family, an early-matured teenager gave me a shiver by a deadly laughter. it sort of made the whole play stand in a different light. it was thought-provoking and somehow scary. if you have the chance, make sure you go see it.
